What is dry ice blasting?
Dry ice blasting is a cleaning method that fires rice-grain pellets of solid CO₂ at −78.5 °C through compressed air onto a surface. The pellets are food-grade, non-toxic and non-conductive; on impact they cause thermal shock and rapid expansion that pops grime off without touching the substrate, then turn straight to gas. No water, no sand, no solvent — only the dirt is left to sweep up.
What does it cost?
Honestly: it depends on surface area and how baked-on the contamination is, so we quote per section from photos. An engine bay, a set of rims or a full undercarriage each get their own written price before we start — no hourly billing. WhatsApp a few photos and you'll have a number within a working day.
Will it damage paint, wiring or seals?
No. Dry ice is non-abrasive — the pellets are softer than the substrate and turn to gas on impact. Painted panels, wiring looms, rubber seals and polished alloy are all safe. That's why we can put the guarantee in writing.
Is it safe for food and beverage equipment?
Yes. We use food-grade CO₂, the process is completely dry, and there is no secondary waste — which is why roasters, breweries and production lines can be cleaned in place without a strip-down or drying time.
How long does a job take?
An engine bay is typically 1–2 hours; a full undercarriage half a day. Commercial work is scheduled around your downtime — evenings and weekends included.
Do you travel outside Cape Town?
Our mobile rig covers greater Cape Town and the Winelands as standard. Further afield is possible for larger jobs — send us the details and we will quote the callout honestly.
